The Turning Point

A room of men taking an honest look at where they actually are. Not a lecture. Not coaching. An experience.

Recognition

Most men don’t come to a day like this because their life is falling apart.

They come because it isn’t.

On paper, it works.
The business runs. The bills get paid.
The people who depend on him are taken care of.

He is good at this part.
Good enough that nobody checks.

He goes through the motions well.
He carries things nobody knows he’s carrying.
It has been easier to keep moving than to look at it.

The questions don’t arrive as a crisis.
They arrive late, and usually alone.

Why do I feel disconnected?

Why am I carrying so much pressure?

Why doesn’t success feel more satisfying?

Why does my marriage feel different?

He doesn’t say them out loud.
There is never a good time.
Eleven at night is never the moment to start that conversation.

So he files them. And keeps going.

Most men don’t lose themselves all at once. They lose themselves slowly.

One responsibility at a time.
One obligation at a time.
One sacrifice at a time.

Nothing dramatic. Nothing anyone could point to on a calendar.

You cannot change what you’re unwilling to see.

Trust what you already know.

So you know what you’re walking into

What the day is,
and what it isn’t.

What this is

  • One day, in one room, with other men, taking an honest look at where you actually are.
  • An experience. Five stretches of the day, each one asking for a real look at your own life — not two minutes of one — with a pen and a workbook in front of you.
  • A printed workbook. There are no right answers in those pages. Only honest ones.
  • A room of men who have no stake in the version of yourself you usually have to keep up.
  • A decision at the end of the day that belongs entirely to you.

What this isn’t

  • Not a seminar, a lecture, or a workshop.
  • Not a coaching day.
  • Not therapy, and not a substitute for it.
  • Not religious.
  • Not a day about fixing you.
  • Not a shortened version of another program.

About sharing

Nothing is forced. Not one thing.

There is no circle where you have to speak.
You choose what you say and what you keep.

Some men talk. Some men sit with it all day and say almost nothing.
Both are doing exactly what they came to do.

The arc of the day

Five movements. No agenda published here — the day starts at 8:00 and it ends at 5:00.

01

The Man Behind the Life

The man underneath the performance, seen plainly — and the recognition that he isn’t the only one in the room.

02

The Cost

What the carrying has cost, and who else has quietly been paying for it.

03

The Pattern

The moment a man notices he has been trying to solve this alone, and how long that has been the arrangement.

04

Brotherhood & Possibility

A room where nobody needs the short version.

05

Decision Point

Where the day ends, and one word men tend to arrive at on their own: enough.

Not a decision about your job or your marriage. A decision about whether you keep handling things the way you have been.

We are not going to promise you what this day will do for you. Nobody can promise that honestly. What you take out of it is yours.

Who belongs in that room

Not every man
should be there.

This is for

  • A man who provides, carries a great deal, and rarely puts any of it down.
  • A man who is doing fine, and knows that isn’t the same as being well.
  • A man carrying something the people closest to him know nothing about.
  • A man who has been handling it by himself for a long time, and is open to not doing that for one day.
  • A man who would rather hear something true than something encouraging.
  • A man who is here on someone else’s suggestion and intends to make his own decision about it.

This isn’t for

  • A man in acute crisis who needs clinical care. This day is not that, and will not stand in for it.
  • A man who wants information. There isn’t much to take notes on.
  • A man who wants someone else to reach the conclusion for him.
  • A man who wants to watch from a distance. The day asks for you to actually be in it.
  • A man who was talked into it. That never holds.

The room

Men come to that room carrying something they haven’t said out loud.

Different details. Same weight.

Each of them assuming he was the only one.

What happens to that assumption is not something a page can tell you.
It isn’t the same as being told you’re not alone.

I’m not the only one.

In their words

A few men who have done this work.

Questions

Questions men ask
before they book.

Do I have to share anything?

No. Not one thing. There is no circle where you are required to speak. You choose what you say and what you keep. Nobody is put on the spot and nobody is called out. Some men talk. Some men stay quiet all day.

Is this therapy? Is it religious?

Neither. There is no diagnosis, no treatment, and no doctrine. Nobody will ask you what you believe. If you’re working with a therapist, keep working with them — this day doesn’t compete with that and doesn’t replace it.

I’m not in crisis. Is this for me?

This day was not built for crisis, and it doesn’t assume you’re in one. It was built for the man whose life works and who doesn’t feel the way he expected to feel, and for whom it’s been easier to keep moving than to look at it. If that sounds familiar, you’ll be in ordinary company.

What do I bring? What should I wear?

Yourself, and whatever you’d wear on a normal Saturday. The printed workbook is provided and lunch is on site. Nothing to prepare, nothing to bring.

Is something being sold at the end?

The Turning Point is a complete event on its own. Men get incredible value from it. Some men also ask us “What’s next?” so we will share what it can look like for you to join us at one of our programs. No pressure and no obligation. It’s only for those who are looking for more.

A friend sent me this. Why?

Probably because he sat in a room like this one and you came to mind. We do ask men not to send this to anyone they’re worried about — that’s the wrong reason. So if it reached you, something here reminded him of you, not of a problem you have. He isn’t diagnosing you. Neither are we. Watch the video, read the page, and decide for yourself. “I don’t know if this is for you” is an honest place to begin.

One Saturday

Nothing here is about fixing you. Nothing is broken.
